Harry Kane injury boost

With the injury to Son Heung-min, Tottenham will be hoping that Harry Kane's ongoing recovery from a hamstring injury will go as smooth as possible as he fights to be back soon.

The England captain tore his hamstring in the 1-0 defeat to Southampton on New Year's Day and has since been working hard to make his comeback.

According to the Sun , the striker's recovery is going even better than expected with Kane targeting a return in just six weeks.

Forsberg link

RB Leipzig forward Emil Forsberg has been linked with Tottenham along with a number of other Premier League clubs over the last few days.

In yesterday's Q&A with fans , Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold had his say on the links.

"Seems a strange one to me. With the signing of Steven Bergwijn, Tottenham now have more wingers and attacking midfielders than players in any other position, with the Dutchman, Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela, Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli all able to play there," he said.

"Unless it’s simply that the price is a great one, signing a player who will be 29 soon into the season in a role you’ve got seven players able to play in seems an odd link.

"It could be that his agent is shopping him around as he’s not happy at Leipzig right now and when the name Mourinho is put to you in a question it’s a nice link to chat about."

Ferdinand on Tottenham's January activity

Former Spurs striker Les Ferdinand says that Tottenham were 'naive' to not bring a striker in during the January transfer window amid the injury to Harry Kane.

Tottenham instead relied on the fitness of Son Hueng-min, with the South Korea now on the sidelines with a fractured arm.

“I think they tried and who they tried to get they weren't able to,” Ferdinand told Standard Sport . “There's not a great deal out there that you're going to bring in to make you much better.

“But people probably look at that and say ‘Why didn't you go and buy one?’. Yes, Son was on fire at the time, so perhaps they were thinking that it wasn't too much of a problem. But unfortunately he's got injured and now it seems a little naïve.”
