Tottenham have been handed another major injury blow with the news that Son Heung-min will be sidelined for 'several weeks' after fracturing his arm.
The South Korea international was the man of the moment for Spurs against Aston Villa after scoring twice in the 3-2 triumph, including the winning goal deep into stoppage time.
However, the Spurs star picked up a significant injury during the triumph at Villa Park and is now expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks during his recovery.
While an official timeframe has not been outlined, football.london understands could be out for anywhere between six to 12 weeks - and Jose Mourinho has admitted he's preparing to be without Son for the remainder of the season.
That rules Son out of the first-leg of the Champions League Round of 16 showdown against RB Leipzig in North London on Wednesday, as well as the crucial top-four fight with Chelsea this weekend.
Son is also likely to miss the following clash with Wolves, another rival in the hunt for Champions League football, as well as the FA Cup fifth-round clash against Norwich City.
If he is out of action for a month, he would then miss the trip to Burnley as well as the reverse fixture against RB Leipzig, along with another crucial fixture against Manchester United.
Son could also miss the home clash against West Ham and a realistic return date for the Spurs star is after March's international break for the trip to face high-flying Sheffield United at the start of April.
That would make him available for the Champions League quarter-finals, if Spurs make it, as well as the North London derby on April 24th and the run-in at the end of the season.
However, with Mourinho stating he expects to be without Son for the remainder of the season, the situation looks bleak for Spurs as he will miss a crucial spell of the campaign.
If he does return for the final games of the season, as suggested, he could feature in the final home match of the season against Leicester City and the trip to Crystal Palace on the final day.
