The Tottenham Hotspur players who are edging towards a suspension with their yellow card tally

Two members of Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur squad are edging towards the number of yellow cards which triggers a Premier League suspension.

Any player who earns five bookings from his side's first 19 Premier League matches of the season will have to serve a one-match ban in the same competition.

Both Harry Winks and Danny Rose are currently on three bookings each from the first eight matches of the season.

Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are both on two yellow cards apiece, while Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Moussa Sissoko, Jan Vertonghen and Victor Wanyama are all on just one each.

Both Winks and Rose play with a combative style and they could well struggle to reach the December 31 reset date for those with four or less yellow cards.

Should either, or both, of the two players reach five yellow cards they will receive a one-match ban and would also not be able to benefit from the first reset date.

Players who accumulate 10 yellow cards in Premier League matches up to and including their team's 32nd fixture of the season will serve a two-match suspension in the competition.

So Spurs' players will have to avoid reaching 10 yellow cards before the final reset date, which is on April 12 and wipes out nine or less bookings.
