The Tottenham evening headlines as Mourinho blamed for exit and midfielder linked with Barcelona

Here are your evening headlines for Friday, March 27.

Youngster believes Mourinho was behind his exit

Kyle Walker-Peters believes he would still be at Tottenham had Jose Mourinho not joined the club.

The 22-year-old moved to Southampton on loan in January having found opportunities hard to come by under first Mauricio Pochettino and then Mourinho after the Portuguese joined in November.

“Mourinho comes in, and I get to play one game, but I don’t really get an opportunity like I thought I would, in terms of two or three games rotating with Serge Aurier, but the manager has to make decisions,” Walker-Peters said in an interview with Southampton’s official website .

“That was his decision, so that’s fine.”

It remains to be seen what the plans are for Walker-Peters at Spurs. The former England U21 international was once seen as a bright prospect for the future but has failed to earn regular playing time with the club.

Tottenham: The season so far

Barca to offer a route out for Spurs midfielder

It’s certainly been a difficult first season in the Premier League for Tanguy Ndombele.

The French midfielder joined Tottenham from Lyon last summer, but he has failed to have the desired impact. Now, according to Mundo Deportivo , the Frenchman will be given a possible way out of the club this summer.

Barcelona are said to be tracking Ndombele and Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz ahead of the next transfer window as they look to further bolster their midfield options. Jose Mourinho has not enjoyed the best of relationships with Ndombele since he arrived at the club. Consequently, the Metro claim that Mourinho would be willing to swap Ndombele for Philippe Coutinho.

Spurs were interested in Coutinho last summer but ultimately opted to sign Giovani Lo Celso instead.

Tottenham’s kit for next season leaked online

The current season hasn’t even finished, but already some eyes are cast toward what the next campaign will bring.

In this instance, it is Spurs' new kits. According to one user on Twitter, the designs for next year have already been leaked online, and it would seem the club are opting for a green away kit. The home kit will maintain the majority-white colour with blue accents on the shoulders.
