The Tottenham evening headlines as big Skipp comparison is made, Levy's summer transfer plans

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines for Saturday, 21st March.

Skipp compared to Barcelona midfielder

Oliver Skipp's first-team chances at Tottenham this season have been limited, but he has appeared for England's U21s.

He played the full 90 minutes in their 2-1 defeat against Holland in November and he definitely made an impression on the opposition.

In a video on YouTube published by OnsOranje documenting the young Dutch players, a conversation (around the 25:38 mark) can be heard in their changing room after their late win as they discuss the performance of the player.

Skipp is even compared to Barcelona man Frenkie De Jong in terms of his play, with Kaj Sierhuis claiming that he even resorted to pushing his opponent in the game as he was that "annoying" prior to his substituion.

"That Skipp guy is an annoying guy, said one of the team. "He can play nice balls, he's a good footballer.

"He's very good in controlling the play. He keeps turning like Frenkie (De Jong). Very annoying, I gave him a little push in the game."

Summer transfer plans

The current Spurs squad needs a rebuild - and a pretty major one at that.

What was a young, energetic squad in 2016 has aged, moved on and been met with injuries - and the club now need to find a way to move on.

Premier League live TV fixture announcement

There's talk of games being played behind closed doors if the Premier League season does resume on April 30th.

If so, supporters of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur ,West Ham United and the rest of the Premier League will soon be able to plan for the resumpton of football in the top flight of English football.

This is because a decision on the fixtures to be shown live in May is set to be revealed in the next fortnight as April 3rd is the approximate date of announcement for matches that have been selected for live TV broadcast.

Premier League plot season-ending plan

The Premier League is scheduling a 'plan' which involves games starting after June 1st and finishing within six weeks, which would allow the 2020-21 season to begin as planned on August 8th.

At this stage, the June 1st start date in ten weeks time is a target rather than a set plan but represents the best-case scenario, following UEFA’s announcement that the European Championships will be postponed until next year.

The matches would take place behind closed doors, with a general acceptance in the league that this is the likely provision required to be in place, and would require the government to allow emergency services to be in place within the ground.
