The Tottenham duo joining Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in Lucas Digne's former teammate XI

Everton left-back Lucas Digne has named two current Tottenham players in his former teammate XI.

Playing for Lille, Paris Saint-Germain, Roma and Barcelona prior to his switch to Goodison Park in 2018, the French international had quite the list of players he could choose from following his time in Europe's top leagues.

Given Zlatan Ibrahimovic was one player he left out despite the Swede shining in his time alongside Digne in the French capital, it just highlights the calibre of players he has played alongside since making his professional debut back in 2011.

Allowed to choose his former teammates and players he's starred with on international duty for France, the 27-year-old elected to name both Hugo Lloris and Serge Aurier in his eye-catching team.

“In goal, it was hard to choose between Ter Stegen and Lloris, but I’ll go with Lloris for his career," he told BT Sport.

“For me, he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He’s a very good guy, he’s captain of the national team. If he can help you, he will do for sure."

Digne also had plenty of options to choose from at right-back but he plumped for Spurs star Aurier after playing with him in Paris and also against him when both were growing up.

“Right-back – Serge Aurier. I grew up with him and I played against him when I was young in Lille when he played in Lens," explained the Frenchman.

"We played every time in young team one against one. It was a good battle and I was so happy to play against him again against Tottenham.”

Aurier was joined in defence by Real Madrid's Raphael Varane, with his former PSG teammates Thiago Silva and Maxwell also named in the backline.

Paul Pogba and Andres Iniesta are Digne's midfield two, while Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe operate in a three behind sole striker Luis Suarez.

Not a bad XI at all!

Digne will come up against Tottenham duo Lloris and Aurier once again later next month when the Lilywhites travel to Merseyside for their third clash of the campaign against Everton.

Pencilled in for Saturday, April 17, the game could potentially be moved if Everton beat Man City to reach the FA Cup semi-finals that are due to be played that weekend.

The Toffees have won both meetings so far against Spurs this season, winning 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the opening weekend of the season, before a 5-4 success after extra time in the FA Cup last month.
