The best primary schools in the Merseyside area have been revealed in our exclusive Real Schools Guide.
Whitefield Primary School in Liverpool came in at the top of the list for 2020, overtaking Woolton Primary School who previously held the top spot in 2019.
The school, based on Boundary Lane in Liverpool, jumped from fifth place in 2019 to become this year's winner.
While in second place this year, was Callands Community Primary School, based in Warrington, Cheshire.
The Real Schools Guide 2020 provides a more comprehensive picture than traditional league tables, by looking beyond Key Stage 2 results alone and instead ranking schools based on 45 different measures.
These measures include attendance, the ratio of teachers to pupils, attainment, the progress of every pupil at the school and whether pupils are doing better than expected.
The guide, which is compiled by Reach plc's data unit, takes into account the wider Merseyside area - which is why some primary schools in Warrington made the top ten.
