The top Christmas beauty spots in Scotland according to TikTok

New research has revealed the top 10 festive beauty spots across the UK according to TikTok, and three Scottish locations made the list.

According to experts at holiday letting agents holidaycottages.co.uk, searches for 'magical Christmas breaks UK' have skyrocketed 5000 per cent in the last 90 days. Many people across the nation are looking to book a cosy winter retreat as Christmas draws near.

With more and more people using TikTok to scout out holiday ideas, holidaycottages.co.uk set out to analyse data from the social media platform to reveal the most popular festive beauty spots across the UK to book right now.

The experts found that the Lake District in Cumbria was the most viewed destination on TikTok, with approximately 295,200,000 views. The Lake District is popular all year round, but is particularly magical over the winter —offering snowy mountain tops, roaring pub fires, bustling Christmas markets and more.

In fifth place, Glencoe was the highest placing Scottish location on the list, with around 59,800,000 views on TikTok. Like the Lake District, there is no better time to witness the majesty of Glencoe than during the winter.

With breathtaking landscapes such as forests, waterfalls, and lakes, it showcases the best of Scotland's natural beauty. As well as countless walking and hiking trails, Glencoe Mountain Resort offers skiing and snowboarding.

Following behind in eighth place, with 39,300,000 TikTok views according to holidaycottages.co.uk, was the Isle of Skye. The scenic island is home to some of the country's most iconic landscape, and is usually quieter over the winter months—making it the perfect place to head this Christmas if you're looking for some peace and quiet.

Finally, trailing just behind in ninth place with 33,000,000 views was the Orkney Islands. With moody skies, dramatic landscapes, and stunning trees and lights across its villages, Christmas is the perfect time to journey out to the archipelago.
