A street in Leeds city centre has been named as the worst in the city for anti-social behaviour.
There were 71 incidents of anti-social behaviour reported on or around Boar Lane in 2019 and no other spot in Leeds saw as many cases recorded in that year.
That includes behaviour such as vandalism, graffiti and fly-posting, street drinking and dumping of rubbish, as well as nuisance neighbors, begging and prostitution.
The figure comes from analysis of data from the Home Office’s Police UK website, which shows the details of every crime recorded by police, as well as where they occurred.
After Boar Lane, the next worst area for anti-social behaviour was Beckett Street, near the council-run car park.
Police recorded 69 incidents of anti-social behaviour there in 2019.
That was followed by 59 cases recorded on or near Cowper Terrace in Harehills, 53 incidents recorded near the Seacroft Tesco Extra, and 47 near Leeds General Infirmary.
Police UK states the street-level crime locations “are only an approximation of where the actual crimes occurred, they are not the exact locations."
That means crimes may have taken place on nearby streets to where they are recorded.
However, the figures do give us an idea of the parts of town where incidents are most likely to happen.
Across the country, the worst place for anti-social behaviour last year was Stansted Airport.
There were 369 cases of anti-social behaviour recorded there over the year.
That was followed by a street called Bell Road in central Hounslow in London (328 cases nearby), and an area on or near a pedestrian subway in the London borough of Redbridge.
The figures exclude a number of police forces who did not report a full year's worth of data.
Those were Bedfordshire Police, British Transport Police, City of London Police, Greater Manchester Police, and Thames Valley Police.
