The top 10 retro toys that every Scots 00s child had on their Christmas wish list

Christmas time is one of the best times of the year for kids because there is an abundance of fun stuff you can do together.

From going to pantomimes, building festive decorations, going to see Santa at your local garden centre, and getting a stack of presents under the tree, there's so much to get kids excited.

While every generation has fond memories of Christmas during their childhood, those of us who were lucky enough to grow up in the 00s will remember all the exciting toys that were on offer.

If you were a 00's kid, then chances are that your wish-list for Santa included a range of funky gadgets and toys that today's iPhone and iPad generation will never understand.

From robot dogs and the Wii to the Dance Mat and Bratz, we take a look back at the ten retro Christmas toys that every noughties kid scribbled down for Christmas. If you think we have missed any, please let us know in the comments.

Poo-Chi the Robot Dog

(Amazon)

Long before we grew up and could get a dog of our own, we absolutely begged our mum to get us Poo-Chi for Christmas.

This interactive puppy was one of the first generations of robot pets to really sweep the 00s and we were so impressed with its ability to sit and backflip - even if it mostly ended up on its side.

Beyblade

Beblades were one of those old school classic crazes that swept the playground for a limited amount of time before disappearing.

Saying that, you all know that you felt cool when you brought these spinning gadgets in to battle with your friends during your break.

Bratz

Every girl wanted a Bratz doll in the 00s (PA)

If there is one doll that can sum up most 00s girls experience, then it absolutely is the Bratz dolls.

These trendy dolls were a more grown-up and edgier take on Barbie and we are sure they were the beginning of our obsession with fashion.

The iPod Shuffle

Everyone wanted an iPod Shuffle backn in the day (Getty Images)

Long before we could download all the latest chart-topping hits to our phones, there was the iPod Shuffle.

We were particularly fond of the mini version, despite the fact that there was no display to tell you what you were listening to. It was a sad day when this piece of

Inflatable Furniture

Inflatable furniture followed us from the 90s into the early 00s (Daily Record)

These funky looking pieces of furniture were one of those trends that followed us from the 90s into the early 00s - and every one of us wanted one.

We didn't care that they smelled like plastic and made weird noises whenever you tried to sit on them, they made our room look cool - or, so we thought.

The Razor Scooter

Every single kid had to own a scooter during the 00s, as it was like a right of passage for that generation.

Also, you were inevitably jealous of all those cooler kids who could perform jumps and tricks, while you bashed your shins with every attempt.

The Dance Mat

Despite being released in 1998, the Dance Mat really took off during the early 00s, as kids tried to wow their friends and family with their best dance moves.

Also, let's face it, if you see one of these in an arcade somewhere, you know you are still going to be trying to beat your high score.

Wii

The Nintendo Wii was ahead of its time for us 00s kids (PA)

Long before we paid hundreds of pounds for an Xbox and waited in long queues for a PlayStation Five, the Wii was pitted as the console of the century.

It was also the first of its kind to use motion sensors in its gaming, so it was fairly ahead of its time when we look back on it.

Heelys

We loved to wear our Heelys to glide along the floor (Daily Record)

These were one of the most fun pairs of shoes that any kid could ever wear.

If someone came wheeling into school on a pair of these bad boys, then they were instantly the cool kid.

Harry Potter PlayStation Games

Let's face it, if there is one franchise that sums up the noughties generation, it is Harry Potter.

Whatever your feelings on the boy wizard may be now, we couldn't wait to get our hands on one of those early PS2 games to really live our Hogwarts adventure to the fullest.
