Toby Alderweireld has set out Tottenham's key goal for the rest of the 2019/20 season after signing a new long-term contract.
The Belgium international is now contracted to Spurs until the summer of 2023, with the deal ending months of speculation over his future.
Tottenham began the campaign poorly and Mauricio Pochettino was sacked as a result, though there has been a significant upturn in form since the arrival of Jose Mourinho last month.
Mourinho's men are now fifth in the Premier League ahead of the weekend and have closed the gap between themselves and fourth-placed Chelsea to just three points.
Alderweireld's new deal is another sign of positivity ahead of the January transfer window and it has left the 30-year-old aiming big for the rest of the campaign.
Not only does the defender feel that making the top four is critical, he insists that there is no reason why his side cannot win the Champions League after reaching the final last season.
"Now we have come from young players to adults. We want to get even better," Alderweireld told the club's website.
"To reach the Champions League season in season out and making the final, this is just the beginning of something big and exciting.
"It's really important for the club to get the Champions League again. We showed last season in the competition that we can beat anyone on our day so it's exciting times and I believe we are going in the right direction."
