The titanic shift in Premier League survival odds following Cardiff City's vital win at Brighton

Cardiff City gave their Premier League survival hopes an enormous boost by beating Brighton 2-0 at the Amex Stadium.

And it seems the bookies have taken note.

Prior to the win over Chris Hughton's side, Sky Bet were offering odds as short at 1/33 for the Bluebirds to be relegated this term.

But they are now 2/7 to go down this season.

Where does Cardiff City's huge win over Brighton leave them in Premier League relegation showdown

Neil Warnock celebrates (PA)

Brighton remain two points clear of Cardiff with a game in hand while they also boast a vastly superior goal difference.

Although given that the Seagulls face Tottenham, Arsenal and Man City in their final five matches, Cardiff's stunning triumph on the south coast of England has blown the relegation battle wide open.

Brighton are now 5/2 to be relegated this season, with bookmakers confident that Burnley (250/1), Southampton (250/1) and Newcastle (500/1) have already done enough to be safe.

Cardiff face Liverpool, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Manchester United in their final four outings this term.
