The tipper from a lorry has detached under a railway bridge causing traffic delays in Stockport.
Ashton Road, in Bredbury, is closed in both directions while recovery of the vehicle takes place.
The incident is causing delays between junction 25 of the M60 and Lingard lane.

Drivers are being advised to find alternative routes.
Images shared at the scene show the tipper blocking the road.
A tweet from Transport for Greater Manchester said: "Travel Update: Ashton Road, Bredbury is closed in both directions between A560 roundabout and Lingard Lane due to a police incident. Seek alternative route."
