Having been the Thai League 1 title contenders for a couple of years, True Bangkok United believe the upcoming season will be their year.
"Our target is to become champions," Bangkok United chairman Kajorn Chearavanont said yesterday when the club unveiled their new players and uniforms.
Bangkok United, who finished a distant second behind winners Buriram United last year, will be entering the 2019 season, which gets underway next month, with a new slogan: "The time is now".
Kajorn told the press conference: "We have been regularly making changes, striving to improve all the time. This year, we have many new players in the team because we have to play in the AFC Champions League.
"We have strengthened our team by bringing in some Thailand national team stars and some foreign players.
"We are still looking for one more player but have yet to finalise our plans.
"However, our goal has not changed. We want to lift the Thai League 1 trophy."
Bangkok United coach Mano Polking said his men will be fighting on multiple fronts, referring to the AFC Champions League and domestic tournaments -- Thai League 1, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
"The first competition for the team this year is the AFC Champions League second play-off round where we meet Hanoi FC," Polking said.
Bangkok United will play the Vietnamese league champions on Feb 12. The winners will face Shandong Luneng of China for a place in the group stage.
"It is good that we have our national team players back. They can help the team in getting through the AFC Champions League play-offs," Polking added.
