The three words Wigan boss Paul Cook bellowed before his press conference even started following 'brutal' Swansea City game

Paul Cook heaped praise on Swansea City after Wigan Athletic suffered last-gasp heartache against Steve Cooper's side, although he admitted his side deserved a share of the spoils at the very least.

Kieffer Moore's 21st minute penalty cancelled out Nathan Dyer's early opener at the DW Stadium, with the points looking like being shared until Sam Surridge headed home his fifth goal of the campaign in injury time.

Cook could not hide his disappointment at conceding late on, with the Wigan boss bellowing "oh my God" as he took to his seat for his post-match press conference.

And when asked if his side deserved to lose, Cook responded: "No. I think you lot in the press will write the reports as how you saw the game.

"I think Swansea are a good side, they've got good players.

"First half they caused us problems at certain times with the way they moved the ball.

"We came to grips with that really well in the second half. We negated a good side to not looking much of a threat. Marshy (David Marshall) didn't really touch the ball in the second half.

"I thought Swansea were good in the first half, but in the second half we took control of the game. I think you could see with Swansea's substitutions, taking key players off, that they'd settle for a point.

"Unfortunately we've got a lot of young players on the pitch at the end and that learning curve can be brutal, it certainly was today."

Victory briefly saw Swansea return to the top of the Championship table, although they were subsequently overtaken by Leeds United after Marcelo Bielsa's side beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0 at Elland Road.

The win means Swansea remain unbeaten away from home in the league so far this term.
