The appointment of the 43-year-old ends a three week search for Steve Bruce's successor and the former Bournemouth boss will get straight to work.
Amanda Staveley was left "incredibly impressed" after a "rigorous recruitment process" and made specific reference to Howe's Cherries transformation.
The Magpies new owners can finally start afresh on the pitch after three weeks of further disappointment which sees them languishing in the relegation zone.
Newcastle are five points adrift from safety after a winless start to the season in all competitions, but Newcastle fans are fully behind the new owners and Howe to bring the good times to Tyneside.
Jamie Reuben was also among the ownership contingent to send a message following Howe's arrival.
