The three teams deemed more likely to win the Championship than Cardiff City next season

Neil Warnock will go in search of a record ninth promotion when he takes charge of Cardiff City next term.

The Yorkshireman took the Bluebirds into the Premier League in his first full campaign in South Wales and will hope to get them back into the big time for the 2019/20 season.

Sky Bet are offering odds of 7/2 for the Bluebirds to be promoted next season.

And they have Cardiff as the 11/1 joint-fourth favourites - along with Stoke City - to win the Championship title.

Only Fulham, Leeds United and West Brom have shorter odds to be promoted or to win the title than Cardiff.

Bookies are struggling to separate Fulham and Leeds, with Sky Bet offering 5/2 on each side to gain promotion while they will give you odds of 7/1 on each to finish at the top of the pile.

West Brom are further back at 10/1 to top the standing, with the Baggies being 3/1 third favourites to gain promotion.

Derby, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough are among those shortly behind Cardiff in the running while South Wales rivals Swansea City are at 20/1 to win the league and are 7/1 to be promoted in any capacity.

As with the Bluebirds, Fulham are aiming to bounce back into the top flight at the first attempt while Leeds and West Brom will hope to go one better than losing in the play-offs in the 2018/19 season.
