You don't have to know a lot about the USA to know July 4th is a massive deal in the country's calendar.
Independence Day for many Americans means fireworks, food and a backyard barbecue, most likely followed by a pool party.
And fun-seekers in Edinburgh can get involved at The Three Sisters who are gearing up to celebrate the holiday with a special event.
The Cowgate bar is planning an American-themed extravaganza, with an outdoor cinema movie marathon and plenty of food and drink.

Writing on Facebook, the venue said: "The Three Sisters is all about celebrating our international friends and with America’s biggest holiday just around the corner we are gearing up for a party unlike any other."
To mark the occasion, there will be a screening of three classic American films outside in their courtyard cinema from 5pm until 10pm.
There will also be a Jack Daniels BBQ with American-themed food (we're guessing burgers?) and some drinks specials (we hope it's a blue, white and red cocktail).
The best part is that the event is completely free you just have to register on Eventbrite on here.
