Manchester City have had a relatively quiet summer transfer window with just three players signed by the reigning Premier League champions.
When you consider that one of those signings is the £100 million capture of Jack Grealish, it's hard to argue that City have had a bad summer.
However, following their failure to land prime target Harry Kane and a few other transfer links running cold, it's fair to say that there are a few positions City could strengthen in the January window.
Striker
City spent all season pursuing Harry Kane, but they weren't able to tempt Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy into negotiations.
After Kane announced that he would be staying put, City entered talks with Cristiano Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes, but once Manchester United entered the race, there was only ever going to be one outcome.
City now head into the season without an experienced number nine, with Ferran Torres still learning the tricks of the trade and Pep Guardiola understandably reluctant to throw youngster Liam Delap in at the deep end.
Signing players in January is risky business, as the panic-buy of Wilfried Bony in 2015 showed, but if City want an elite goal poacher for the second half of the season, then they'll need to dip into the market.
Erling Haaland is the big-name option, although Borussia Dortmund would not be keen on letting their main man go mid-season. To prise him away could cost as much as €150million, whereas if City wait until next summer, they could trigger a £65m release clause in his contract.
Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic is another forward City were linked with this summer. The Serbian scored 21 goals in Serie A last season, so there's no doubting that he has the goalscoring instinct Guardiola craves.
City may well go in for Kane again next summer, but at 30 years old, he will be well above the typical age profile of City recruits.
City were offered Barcelona Antoine Griezmann this summer, but rejected the approach. He has now re-joined Atletico Madrid on loan with an option to make the deal permanent.

Left-back
Another transfer window has been and gone, but still City haven't addressed their issues at left-back.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo are Guardiola's only options on the left side of defence. The former has impressed there but is not of the same standard as Kyle Walker on the opposite flank, while the latter is right-footed, making for an awkward fit.
One possibility was an approach for teenage sensation Nuno Mendes, but on deadline day he joined Paris Saint-Germain from Sporting Lisbon for €40m
Alejandro Grimaldo is a realistic option. The 25-year-old Benfica left-back bagged nine assists in Portugal's top-flight last season, proving that he has what it takes to be a dangerous attacking full-back.
He is also a product of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, so is well versed in Guardiola's footballing philosophy.
Bernardo Silva replacement
Bernardo Silva's desire to leave City has been no secret this summer, but with no offers from potential suitors meeting City's valuation, the Portugal international will stay put for the time being.
Bernardo brings so much to Guardiola's side in terms of creativity, skill and work rate. If he leaves in January or next summer, then City will need a replacement.
Houssem Aouar is a midfielder long-linked with Arsenal, but the French youngster is staying at Lyon for now. Like Bernardo, he's a left-footed central midfielder who is both combative and creative, so he could be a decent option.
Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix could be available in January having seemingly fallen out of favour in the Spanish capital, though his struggles in adapting to Diego Simeone's intense style of play raise doubts over how he would get on in a Guardiola side.
