The 2019 summer transfer window has officially closed, but that doesn't mean Arsenal can't sign anymore players.
It turned out to be a good summer for the Gunners as rumours of a £45m budget didn't stop them from smashing their transfer record with the signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille for £72m.
The Ivory Coast international is one of six new faces at the Emirates Stadium this summer.
One of which won't be playing for the Gunners until next season as young French defender William Saliba has been loaned back to Saint-Etienne to continue his development.
But Pepe, Dani Ceballos, Gabriel Martinelli, David Luiz and Kieran Tierney will all be available this season and have provided supporters with some optimism.
With that said, could Unai Emery, Raul Sanllehi and Edu be open to more business in the coming weeks?
If so, the good news is that there are a number of free agents that can still be signed to provide extra quality and depth to a squad hoping to seal a return to the Champions League in 2020.
And the bonus is they wouldn't cost a single penny.
Football.london takes a look at the three players who could be of interest to the Gunners.
Ignazio Abate
Hector Bellerin won't be fit for a couple of months and Ainsley Maitland-Niles doesn't always convince when playing as a right-back.
If Emery wants to go down the route of adding more experience as well as a natural right-back to his squad then Abate could be an option following his release from AC Milan.
It could be a short-term option to ease the pressure on Maitland-Niles as well as Bellerin who will certainly need time to reach his usual level once he returns to action.
However, the last free agent signed from a Serie A club didn't turn out well...
Franck Ribery
The departure of Alex Iwobi means a spot on the left-wing has opened up at Arsenal.
Despite being in his late 30's Ribery could still be of use to the Gunners especially in a bit-part role whilst also helping to develop the likes of Reiss Nelson and Bukayo Saka.
At Bayern Munich he flourished cutting in from the left-hand side and signing him on a short-term contract wouldn't be the worst idea in the world.
Daniel Sturridge
Still a free agent after being released by Liverpool at the end of June.
His injury record is probably the main reason why no club has opted to snap him up yet, but the talent is there when fully fit and he is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League.
Now, the Gunners do have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette on the books. They are strong when it comes to central strikers.
But they did loan out Eddie Nketiah to Leeds United on deadline day, so could the ex-Chelsea star be a suitable back-up to the Arsenal duo for just a season?
