The three clubs tipped to rival Newcastle United for Hamza Choudhury transfer

Newcastle United are considered the bookmakers' favourites to sign Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury if the Foxes decide to sanction a deal.

The Magpies were previously interested in a loan switch for the 23-year-old in January, but Brendan Rodgers decided against a deal after being unable to secure a replacement.

However, Leicester have now confirmed a £17m move for former Newcastle target Boubakary Soumare in a deal which will likely push the former England under-21 international further down the pecking order.

It is unclear at this stage whether the Magpies will reignite their interest in Choudhury, with a recent report suggesting Watford midfielder Will Hughes could be on Bruce's shortlist this summer.

The prospect of the Foxes midfielder remaining at the King Power Stadium is still considered the most likely scenario, with Grosvenor Sport offering odds of 2/5 on that eventuality.

However, Newcastle are considered to be in the box seat if Leicester look to offload Choudhury with the same bookmakers offering odds of 2/1.

If Choudhury was made available this summer, the Magpies are tipped to face potential competition from Premier League rivals Norwich City, Watford and Burnley.

A switch to the Canaries is listed at 4/1, with moves to Vicarage Road or Turf Moor offered at 6/1 and 7/1 respectively.
