The three Chelsea players who caught the eye of Graham Potter before making their Blues debut

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has said that he knew that the young players at Frank Lampard's disposal at Chelsea would do well after seeing them in the Championship last season.

Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori all spent the 2018/19 season on loan in the second level of English football, Abraham at Aston Villa, while both Mount and Tomori played under Lampard at Derby County.

All three have made a big impact upon their return to Stamford Bridge, with the trio on the scoresheet in the 5-2 win over Wolves.

Chelsea host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday, and the seagulls manager, who was in charge of Swansea City last season has said that the young players are benefiting from Lampard's appointment as Chelsea head coach.

"Chelsea have some really good young players - I came across them in the Championship last season," he said, (via Brighton's official twitter account .)

"We knew the likes of Abraham, Mount and Tomori would do well.

"Frank Lampard knows them well too, which always helps."

"We know it'll be a tough we face side this weekend, I was impressed with how they did against Liverpool.

"They fought back after half time and went toe to toe - they have good options and are strong at home."
