The three Budget 2021 changes kicking in next month with thousands eligible for more supports

Three changes from budget 2021 will come into play next month, seeing an increase in earnings disregarded for those receiving Disability Allowance and a boost to the Carer's Support Grant.

The Apprenticeship Incentive Scheme will also be extended until June 30.

Here are all the budget 2021 changes that will come into place in June:

The earnings disregard for Disability Allowance will increase by €20 per week from €120 to €140 per week

Recipients of Disability Allowance currently are allowed to work and earn up to €120 per week without their payment being affected.

From June, people receiving the Disability Allowance will be allowed to earn up to €140, but they must notify the Department of Social Protection and provide proof of their earnings.

The Carer’s Support Grant will increase by €150 from €1,700 to €1,850 per year

This is an annual payment made to carers by the Department of Social Protection that can be used in whatever way they wish.

In June of each year, the grant is automatically given to carers getting Carer's Allowance, Carer's Benefit or Domiciliary Care Allowance.

To qualify for the grant, carers much be over 16, be an ordinary resident of the State, be living with the person being cared for or be contactable quickly by a direct system.

Carers must also be caring for the person on a full-time basis for at least six months.

With 4,000 new apprenticeship training places, the Apprenticeship Incentivisation Scheme will be extended to the end of June 2021

The Apprenticeship Incentivisation Scheme provides financial support for employers who take on apprentices on all national programmes.

Apprenticeship employers are eligible for a €3,000 payment for each new apprentice registered between March 1 and June 30 this year.

To apply, apprenticeship employers must advertise any vacancies on the free Jobs Portal facility.

They must register the apprentice with SOLAS once they have been employed.

After registration, the employer will be invited to submit a claim form that included tax clearance details and bank details.
