The Arsenal players at risk of missing Europa League quarter-final second leg against Napoli

Arsenal face one of the toughest tests they could have been handed in the Europa League quarter-finals.

The Gunners were drawn against Serie A side Napoli in the last eight of the competition, and they host the team who are second in Serie A at the Emirates on Thursday.

It is set to be an intriguing battle between two of the favourites to win the competition outright.

But there are a number of Arsenal players who may struggle to go full throttle when the first whistle is blown on Thursday night.

Arsenal open their search to find the next mastermind to take Unai Emery's reign to a new level

That is because they are at risk of suspension from the second leg next week if they pick up a booking in north London.

Players are suspended for one game once they pick up three yellow cards in the competition and there are three Arsenal players who are at risk of missing the second leg in Naples if they are cautioned at the Emirates on Thursday night.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Granit Xhaka and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are the trio who are walking a tightrope from the first whistle at the Emirates. If any of those are booked on Thursday, they will miss the second leg.

Bookings at the end of the quarter-final stage are wiped out, but if any of them pick up a yellow in the second leg and get through to the semi-finals, they will miss the first leg of the last four clash too.

Napoli only have one player at risk of suspension - Nikola Maksimovic.
