All of the good things we'll miss about lockdown and what we can't wait to end

No one expected us to be using words like lockdown, self-isolation and shielding on an almost daily basis in 2020.

Coronavirus changed our world as we know it, and for a few months, our lives were turned upside down.

As lockdown restrictions are gradually eased in Wales, is there anything we will miss about the last few months?

1. Miss: Chatting to your elderly relatives or neighbours through the window every week when you drop off their shopping.

Won't miss: Spending an extra hour in Aldi trying to figure out what the difference is between lard and butter because their shopping list makes no sense to you.

2. Miss: The hours spent scrolling through TikTok without a care in the world.

Won't miss: Being roped in to learn TikTok dances by your partner/friends/children and embarrassing yourself in the process.

3. Miss: All the free hours spent baking.

Won't miss: All the weight gained as a result.

4. Miss: Being inspired to take up gardening by Terry Walton.

5. Miss: Free time. Cooking, reading, relaxing, watching TV.

Won't miss: Using it to buy things online that I definitely don't need.

6. Miss: Spending more time at home as a family.

Won't miss: The kids being off school for an eternity.

7. Miss: Being on furlough.

8. Miss: Standing on your doorstep every Thursday to thank the key workers and NHS staff who sacrificed so much for us.

Won't miss: That one neighbour who always tried to be bigger and better every week. It started off with a saucepan, the next week it was a gong.

9. Miss: The lack of commute when working from home.

10. Miss: Discovering new places in my local area to go for a walk or run.

Won't miss: People sharing their Strava map on social media.

11. Miss: Catching up with family and friends with a Zoom quiz.

Won't miss: The one person who can't find the mute button.

12. Miss: People not invading my personal space. Social distancing was designed for those of us who hate hugs.

Won't miss: Dodging people on the pavement and in shopping aisles.

13. Miss: The Eat Out to Help Out scheme

Won't miss: Having to book a table somewhere 10820743 days in advance.

14. Miss: Being able to listen to BBC Radio Two without annoying my work colleagues.

Won't miss: Having only my cat to talk to.

15. Miss: Making your own version of a McDonald's breakfast or Tesco meal deal

Won't miss: Doing the washing up 10 times a day.

16. Miss: Watching This Morning.

Won't miss: Joe Wicks' P.E lessons. I'd had enough after week one.

17. Miss: Waking up ten minutes before your shift starts and putting your joggers on.

Won't miss: The hairdressers and barbers being closed.

18. Miss: Only a few people being allowed inside the supermarket.

Won't miss: Queuing to get inside.
