Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien was noncommittal when it came to the status of receiver Kenny Stills for Sunday’s game versus the Atlanta Falcons at NRG Stadium.
“I think that’ll be a game day decision,” O’Brien told reporters Friday.
The former New Orleans Saint and Miami Dolphin injured his ankle and hamstring in the Week 4 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Stills has been listed as questionable on the final injury report after being limited in all three days of practice.
According to Pro Football Focus, the Texans will be missing much more than Stills’ 11 catches for 188 yards and a touchdown if he is unable to go against the Falcons. The 6-1, 202-pound wideout has provided a level of consistency in the Texans’ passing game that makes him the highest-graded receiver in the analytics firm’s evaluations.
If the Texans have to place Stills among the inactives for Sunday, they will need to either get the running game going or find another target with the same level of production.
