The Texans had the 2 best cornerbacks in the AFC South

The Houston Texans had two of the best cornerbacks in the AFC South in Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson, according to grades released by Pro Football Focus on Monday.

The analytics site gave the 34-year-old and 30-year-old defensive backs the top grades, which were the best in the division.

Joseph finished the year with 58 tackles, 13 pass breakups, two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown in 14 games. Jackson led the Texans with 17 pass breakups along with 87 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a sack.

The irony of the Texans having the two best cornerbacks in the division is that it was an AFC South receiver in the Indianapolis Colts’ T.Y. Hilton that torched Houston for 13 catches for 314 yards through two games and five for 85 in the Texans’ 21-7 wild-card loss to the Colts at NRG Stadium. It just goes to show that sometimes the teams that face each other the most know how to best defeat one another.
