The terrifying weapons seized by police in West Yorkshire's crime hotspots

A shocking image shows the terrifying weapons being seized on the streets of West Yorkshire's crime hotspots.

West Yorkshire Police shared a picture of four huge knives confiscated by officers as part of Operation Jemlock yesterday.

The operation was first launched in April 2019, targeting people carrying weapons and ensuring knives and guns are removed from the streets.

Last night officers targeted crime hotspots and seized a total of six weapons, and also made five separate arrests.

These weapons were seized off the streets of West Yorkshire (West Yorkshire Police)

The force tweeted: “Last night Jemlock made a total of 5 separate arrests, seized 6 weapons, pursued and recovered a stolen vehicle & targeting hot spot areas.

“This highlights the positive impact we are aiming for in reducing & preventing crime. #noknivessaveslives”
