A 15-year-old boy hid this terrifying knife down his pants as he made off from a robbery.
Police were called to reports of a robbery in progress in Mossley , Tameside, on Tuesday evening.
On arrival at the scene, officers spotted a male matching a description given of the offender.
He was making off from the scene on a bike.
Both officers chased the suspect and detained him shortly after.
The boy was searched and a large knife was discovered down his pants and the bike he was riding on had been reported as stolen.
The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a bladed article.
A picture of the large knife was posted to the GMP Tameside North Facebook page.
The terrifying weapon had a serrated edge and was being kept in a black sheath.
The Facebook post read said: "Last night officers were called to a report of a possible robbery in progress in #Mossley .
"On arrival in the area PC James Pollit and PC Martin Jones sighted a male matching the description of the offender making off on a push bike, both officers gave chase detaining him shortly after.
"On searching the male a large knife was discovered tucked down his pants and the bike he was riding on had been reported stolen."
A number of people commented on the post in shock.
Lisa said: "It's scary to think about how they managed to get their hands on the blades and what could have happened.
"Good job, let's hope they get locked up for it for a very long time."
Wendy added: "It's scary that a 15-year-old can get their hands on a weapon like that."
