The 'telling fact' for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino amid Manchester United links

Former England boss Sam Allardyce believes that Mauricio Pochettino will not leave Tottenham Hotspur to join Manchester United, despite continuing rumours over his future.

The pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford has increased significantly following a rough start to the season.

As such, speculation continues to suggest that Solskjaer's time could be approaching it's conclusion and Pochettino has long been touted as his successor at Old Trafford.

That is despite Tottenham having a disappointing run of late, with a 7-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League followed up by a 3-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, prior to the international break.

However, Allardyce doesn't see Pochettino leaving for Manchester United as he has stated that the Spurs boss will have no reason to make the move as his current squad is better than the one the Red Devils have at their disposal.

Mauricio Pochettino's first Premier League press conference

"I can’t see Mauricio going anywhere at the moment. At the moment, Tottenham are a better squad than Manchester United - and that is a telling fact," he said.

"It’s alright saying, 'this is Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world’, but has it got the team to go with it to represent Manchester United?
