The tearful moment Tupou Vaa'i's family break down as he tells them he's finally made the All Blacks

There can be fewer greater feelings in the life of a professional rugby player than receiving the call-up to your national side.

That's the exact call young Kiwi lock Tupou Vaa'i received as he was named as one of seven uncapped players in New Zealand's side for the upcoming Rugby Championship.

But arguably more special was the call the 20-year-old Chiefs forward made to his family to inform them that he'd received the nod.

A video was posted on TikTok of the moment he revealed the news to his loved ones, trying his best to hold back the tears as the words came out.

"I got some news this morning," he manages to get out in between the tears.

"I just want to let you guys know that I made the All Blacsk."

A number of his family members can then be seen and had heard crying themselves.

Vaa'i is named in the squad after playing all seven Super Rugby Aotearoa matches for Warren Gatland's Chiefs.

Other uncapped players in the squad are Alex Hodgman, Quinten Strange, Cullen Grace, Hoskins Sotutu, Caleb Clarke, Will Jordan.
