Japan's tallest skyscraper is slated to be constructed in 2027 near Tokyo Station, Mitsubishi Estate Co. announced Thursday. The 390-meter tall, 63-story skyscraper, dubbed Torch Tower, will surpass the heights of the 300-meter tall Abeno Harukas in Osaka City and a 330-meter tall skyscraper scheduled to be completed in 2023 in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

According to Mitsubishi Estate, the total construction cost of the tower and surrounding three-hectare complex will be about 500 billion yen and will include the 210-meter tall Tokiwabashi Tower that is expected to be completed in 2021.
