The Talk’s Sheryl Underwood sobs and claims she has PTSD after Sharon Osbourne row

The Talk star Sheryl Underwood has revealed that she felt 'PTSD' following her row with her former co-star Sharon Osborne.

For the first time in over a month, the cast of The Talk returned to air following an internal investigation into the show and the dramatic departure of Osbourne.

Addressing the recent drama, Sheryl opened the show alongside panelists Amanda Kloots, Elaine Welteroth, Carrie Ann Inaba.

In the opening scenes, the 57-year-old presenter also confirmed that the cast intended to talk about the recent events 'honestly' before expressing hopes to work through and move forward with the show.

She told viewers: "by the end of the hour, we want everyone to feel empowered and ready to move forward".

The panel was also joined by Dr. Donald E Grant, who spoke to the women about how to approach race issues and create a safe space to discuss such important topics.

During the discussion, Sheryl also went on to reflect on the 'trauma' of her on-air spat with Ozzy Osbourne's wife.

Sheryl continued: "I feel like I am in PTSD because it was a trauma and I feel like I want to get past this because I really wanted to get to work with my friends and my colleagues."

The Talk's return came over a month after Sharon and Sheryl locked horns on-air after Sharon defended Piers Morgan following his remarks about Meghan Markle.

Amid a backlash from viewers, some of which branded Sharon's behaviour racist, the television star issued a grovelling apology on social media. An internal investigation was also launched and during the show's hiatus, Mrs O left the show after over 11 years.

Since the drama unfolded, Sharon has claimed that she did apologise to Sheryl.

It was also on today's show that the presenter maintained that she has not communicated with Sharon - and claimed that she had not responded to her text messages because of the investigation.

Sheryl added: "I have not spoken to and I have no missed phone calls but I do have text messages sent to me. The reason I have not responded to those message is because there was an internal investigation happening."

It is understood that so far the TV channel is not looking for a replacement for the UK star.
