The Swansea City XI fans want to see and the signing they need for it to happen

Swansea City kick-off their 2019/20 campaign against Hull City in just over two weeks.

The Swans have made only signing under Steve Cooper so far this summer, with left-back Jake Bidwell joining on a three-year deal having been released by Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers.

But Cooper is hopeful of making further additions to his squad before the August 8 transfer deadline.

Although it appears the Swans' potential dealings in the final weeks of the summer market will not have a major impact on how fans want their side to line up.

Following Bidwell's move to South Wales, we asked supporters to pick their best Swansea City XI from the current crop of players available.

Given that the club are keen to offload the likes of Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew, Jefferson Montero and Borja Baston this summer, they were not included in the selection process.

In addition to those currently in the squad, we gave fans the opportunity to select a new signing in any given position when it came to choosing their preferred team.

And the results are in.

Lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, fans are keen to see Erwin Mulder in between the sticks.

As for the back four, that looks rather familiar from what we were used to under Graham Potter.

Connor Roberts, Mike van der Hoorn and Joe Rodon all feature along with new recruit Bidwell who supporters want to slot in on the left following Martin Olsson's departure.

As for the holding midfielders, Matt Grimes and George Byers are the preferred choices, understandably so given their efforts furing the 2018/19 campaign.

The Jack Army want Bersant Celina to continue in the No. 10 role while Wayne Routledge - who signed a one-year contract extension with the Swans earlier this summer - gets the nod on one wing.

But it seems fans are unconvinced by the options available on the opposite flank, with supporters calling for a new signing to be the man on the right wing, rather than plumping for Nathan Dyer, Joel Asoro or Barrie McKay.

As for the striker, there are no prizes on offer for guessing that fans want Oli McBurnie - the man who is subject to fierce transfer interest from Sheffield United - to lead the line under Cooper.

The Swansea XI fans want to see: Mulder; Roberts, van der Hoorn, Rodon, Bidwell; Grimes, Byers; New signing, Celina, Routledge; McBurnie.
