The Swansea City player ratings as star the hero again and team spirit there for all to see at Sheffield Wednesday

FREDDIE WOODMAN 7

Made two decent stops as the hosts dominated the opening 15 minutes or so. Reacted brilliantly to deny Atdhe Nuhiu in the second half. Made the initial save from Adam Reach but was then stranded for the equaliser. Helpless for the second.

KYLE NAUGHTON 8

A really impressive showing from the right-back who did well in attack and defence. Should have had an assist after a delightful cross to Andre Ayew in the second half.

MIKE VAN DER HOORN 7

Tough battle on his hands early on but really helped Swansea steady the ship. His nous went a long way while his efforts in the air helped to limit the Owls' impact from their more direct attacks.

BEN WILMOT 8

Made a vital intervention early on and almost got on the scoresheet in the second half with a header that struck the post. Another fine effort from the central defender who rescued a point for his side with an injury time effort.

JAKE BIDWELL 7

Had a really tough start as Sheffield Wednesday ran riot on Swansea's left flank. But to his credit, Bidwell got to grips with the Owls and did well going forward too, giving plenty of support to Bersant Celina in particular.

GEORGE BYERS 6

One of the midfielder's quieter games in the middle of the park, although he did a lot of the unseen dirty work. Almost caught out after losing possession shortly after half-time.

MATT GRIMES 7

Some timely challenges in the opening, although passing let him down on a couple of occasions. Corner was on the money for Wilmot in injury time.

NATHAN DYER 7

The sole survivor from the Swansea squad that won at Hillsborough in 2009, the winger put in another decent shift and caused a couple of issues on the right. Withdrawn.

BERSANT CELINA 6

Was involved in the majority of Swansea's best attacking moves and drilled an effort wide himself in the first half. More of the same in the second, without any real end product.

WAYNE ROUTLEDGE 6

Showed his experience on plenty of occasions when needed, although the winger was unable to have too much of an impact at the business end of the pitch. Subbed.

ANDRE AYEW 8 - Star Man

Work rate was off the charts and he helped Swansea get further forward after a tough start. Poked home the opener, his sixth goal of the campaign. Spurned two chances in the second half, but still a fine effort.

SUBS

Connor Roberts (for Dyer) - So close so scoring before Wilmot's goal. 6

Jay Fulton (for Celina) - Helped see out the game as carnage unfolded late on. 6

Sam Surridge (for Routledge) - Got the ball in dangerous areas but had little time to make an impact. 6
