The Swansea City player ratings as one man rolls back the years while young guns shine again in Middlesbrough win

The Swansea City player ratings from the 3-1 win against Middlesbrough at the Liberty Stadium.

Kristoffer Nordfeldt 8

Didn't have a single shot to save in the opening half and was once again key in helping his side play out from the back. Little he could do about George Saville's strike.

Connor Roberts 8

Another solid display from the Welshman against his former employers. Gave the away side absolutely nothing on his flank and was in place to tap home Bersant Celina's cross in the second half.

Mike van der Hoorn 8

Happy to build from the back, taking matters in to his own hands at times too while the Dutchman gave Boro little in the air either. Replaced late on.

Cameron Carter-Vickers 8

Another assured display from the central defender who played a key role in restricting the visitors to precious little.

Kyle Naughton 7

Another decent showing from the left-back who carried on from where he left off against Brentford. Solid at the back and got forward a bit too.

George Byers 7

Another dogged display in the centre of the park from Byers. Had a shot well blocked just before the hour mark too.

Matt Grimes 8 - Star Man

Was at the heart of everything Swansea did. Another composed finish from the penalty spot to give his side the lead. Just gets better every week.

Nathan Dyer 7

Looked threatening at times on the right and linked up well with those off his wing. Should have scored in the second half but was thwarted by Darren Randolph.

Bersant Celina 8

Should have opened the scoring in the 16th minute but was a slick operator in attack for the hosts. Got himself an assist for Wayne Routledge and then an even nicer one for Roberts. Limped off the pitch after full-time such were his efforts.

Daniel James 8

Won the penalty for Swansea's opener and almost replicated his stunning solo effort in the FA Cup win over Brentford. Another superb performance from the Welshman before he was replaced.

Wayne Routledge 8

A wonderful display from the 34-year-old whose cool finish gave Swansea a 2-0 lead shortly after he rattled the crossbar. Subbed midway through the second half after appearing to pick up a hamstring problem.
