The Swansea City player ratings as Matt Grimes and other impress in Rotherham United win

FREDDIE WOODMAN 7

Routine save to deny Jamie Lindsay, and was alert to the rare threats Rotherham posed. Did really well under the high ball aside from one scare late on as the Millers pressed. Another clean sheet.

BEN CABANGO 7

On his return to the side following a hamstring injury, the Welshman showed no signs of rustiness. Dominant in the air and won plenty of challenges.

RYAN BENNETT 7

Read play well on numerous occasions, although was booked in the first half. Survived a late handball scare, but can he happy with his efforts.

KYLE NAUGHTON 7

Put his body on the line when required and was a composed figure at the back.

CONNOR ROBERTS 8

Work rate was off the charts as ever and should have an assist for Jamal Lowe in the opening half. Such a good display.

JAY FULTON 7

Fully proved his work in the middle of the park once again. A calming influence, and did enough to make life easier for those behind him.

MATT GRIMES - Star Man 8

Notched his first goal since April 2019 to put the hosts ahead, but it was a top performance from the Swansea captain, who kept the home side ticking over and did so much vital defensive work.

JAKE BIDWELL 7

A real threat on the left flank and put in plenty of teasing crosses. Linked up well with Lowe. Spurned two chances after the restart, but another good display.

YAN DHANDA 7

Often drifted in and out of the game, but carried a real threat at times. Had a free-kick well saved in the second half, but, all in all, a decent display again from the No. 10. Subbed.

JAMAL LOWE 7

Saw a fair amount of the ball and really brought others into play, but was unable to do much damage. Wasted a glorious opportunity in the first half but still did a lot of good work. Replaced.

LIAM CULLEN 7

On his first ever league start for the Swans, the academy product linked up well with Dhanda and Lowe. Unlucky with a header in the first half and had a great chance in the second half, but couldn't quite pull the trigger. Subbed.

Subs

Wayne Routledge (for Cullen) - Experience helped the Swans see out the game. 6

Kasey Palmer (for Dhanda) - Unable to do too much in attack late on as Swansea were forced to defend. 6

Korey Smith (for Lowe) - Hacked off the line at the death. Vital. N/A
