The Swansea City player ratings as duo shine but other pair flatter to deceive in Derby draw

The Swansea City player ratings from the 1-1 draw with Derby at the Liberty Stadium.

Kristoffer Nordfeldt 7

Fine save to deny Bradley Johnson and would have hoped for more from his defence for Derby's opener. Distribution on point. Decent showing.

Connor Roberts 7

Not able to carry much of a threat going forward in the opening half but was a man possessed at times in the second half.

Mike van der Hoorn 7

Had a tough job on his hands in the opening half but was superb after the restart. Outstanding block to deny Mason Mount just after the break and was a rock at the back.

Cameron Carter-Vickers 7

Generally coped well with the physicality of Martyn Waghorn. That service was resumed when Mason Bennett entered the fray.

Kyle Naughton 5

Given a tough time by Harry Wilson and Jayden Bogle at times. Subbed at half time.

George Byers 7

As with many others, Byers grew into the match after the Swans' were overran at times in the opening 45. Fired a free-kick over before the break aswell.

Matt Grimes 7

A few stray passes in the opening half, one of which saw his cautioned after fouling Harry Wilson. Was always a willing recipient of the ball though as played a key part in Swansea's tactical shift in the second half.

Barrie McKay 5

One decent pass to set-up Oli McBurnie aside, the Scot didn't do enough to impress in the opening half. Hooked at the break.

Wayne Routledge 8

Another great showing from the experienced winger. Got his fifth goal of the campaign and linked up well with those around him.

Daniel James 7

Was Swansea's greatest goal threat in the first half and caused a few problems on the left and in a more central role. Must have though he had an assist for Declan John in the second half.

Oli McBurnie - Star Man 8

The special moment Alan Curtis gets guard of honour at Swansea City vs Derby County

SUBS

Declan John (for Naughton) - Really gave his side some attacking impetus in the second half. Impressive showing off the bench. 7

Jay Fulton (for McKay) - Decent shift in the middle as Swansea make a tactical shift that really nullified the impact of the Rams. 7

Joel Asoro (for James) - Too late to make an impact. N/A
