The Swansea City player ratings as defensive pair shine and two others improve at Bristol City

FREDDIE WOODMAN 7

Fine save to deny Taylor Moore and was comfortable when it came to dealing with the other efforts that came his way. Unfortunate to concede, in truth.

BEN CABANGO 7

Solid enough in the opening half, but showed his worth after the restart. Really grew into the game.

RYAN BENNETT - Star Man 8

Read play very well time and time again and did the basics with ease. Dominant in the air as well.

MARC GUEHI 8

Pretty much what we've come to expect from the Chelsea loanee. Typically composed on the ball and very solid defensively.

CONNOR ROBERTS 6

Impressed when on set-piece duty, and the Wales international always looked to get involved in attack when possible. Threaded through for Jamal Lowe to score the opener but conceded the penalty, albeit very unfortunately.

KOREY SMITH 6

Coming up against his former club, Smith was sometimes wasteful in possession, although he did help to break things down when the Robins threatened. Booked in the first half and fluffed his lines at the death.

JAY FULTON 6

Making his first league start of the campaign, it was another "does what it says on the tin" display from the Scot. Shielded the defence and looked to give those ahead of him support.

MATT GRIMES 7

Always looked to create things when possible and was very adventurous on the ball. Sublime pass to Ayew and impressed defensively. Much more like it from the captain.

JAKE BIDWELL 6

Provided an outlet on the left flank, but couldn't add to his tally of assists. Defensively sound.

ANDRE AYEW 6

Always looked a threat when he got on the ball in the first half. Golden chance to make it 2-0 in the second half but refused to pass to Lowe.

JAMAL LOWE 7

Got into some dangerous positions, but final ball was often lacking. However, he took his goal brilliantly to put Swansea ahead. Subbed.

Subs

Viktor Gyokeres (for Fulton) - Was a handful high up the pitch and could have won it for his side at the death. 6
