Took charge at the back when needed and put his body on the line which was a big ask given the concerns over his fitness.

Won everything in the air and so good on the ball. Yet another fine performance.
CONNOR ROBERTS 7
Involved as Swansea carved out their first opening, but wasn't able to bomb forward as much as usual given Brentford's ability to counter. Did very well in the second half.
JAY FULTON 7
Making his 100th appearance for the club, the Scot did an awful lot of gritty work. Decent in the final third too.
MATT GRIMES 7
A few mis-placed passes early on, but the captain soon found his rhythm. Some important tackles and interceptions too.
JAKE BIDWELL 7
Had to do more defensive work than he'd have liked but carried a threat when he did get high up the left flank. Far more influential after the restart.
CONOR GALLAGHER 7
Struggled in the opening stages but still able to find key passes that gave the hosts encouragement. Wonderful piece of play in the build-up to Andre Ayew's goal. Good second half.
ANDRE AYEW 8
Hit the post with a header in the first half and had a spot-kick saved. But sealed victory with a stunner and was at the heart of everything late on.
RHIAN BREWSTER 7
Stung the palms of David Raya before heading into the grateful arms of the Brentford goalkeeper after Ayew's initial effort struck the frame of the goal. Won the penalty but then - perhaps harshly - booked for diving.
