The Swansea City player ratings against Norwich City as Wales star shines and Andre Ayew a menace even in defeat

Steve Cooper's Swansea City went down to defeat at Norwich, falling to a goal near the end.

Here we rate the Swans performances at Carrow Road.

FREDDIE WOODMAN 7

Couldn't do anything about the winning goal. Reasonably solid, but aside from when he was beaten, didn't have a massive amount to do.

JAKE BIDWELL 7

A decent showing going forward, and linked up nicely with the likes of Andre Ayew and Jamal Lowe. Reasonably solid defensively too.

KYLE NAUGHTON 6

Fairly solid, but was made to work hard by Norwich's attacking talents. Subbed as Cooper looked to change the shape of his side.

RYAN BENNETT 7

Was given a tough time by Pukki and Buendia for much of the afternoon but reasonably solid on the whole and read the game nicely.

MARC GUEHI 7

Made a couple of clumsy challenges early on, but settled into the game. Distribution proved useful on the counter.

CONNOR ROBERTS 8 STAR MAN

Made a tremendous block early on to deny Placheta, but his contributions to deny Pukki will give the Finnish striker nightmares. The Wales star was a thorn in his side the whole afternoon.

KOREY SMITH 6

Little to take issue with on the whole. Showed some classy touches in the middle of the park, although perhaps found wanting defensively on a couple of occasions.

JAY FULTON 8

Kept things ticking over nicely in the midifeld for much of the game. No player made more tackles than the midfielder out there. Subbed.

KASEY PALMER 5

Looked busy in the final third but couldn't quite find the right ball to unlock the Norwich defence. Didn't really seize his opportunity on his first start.

JAMAL LOWE 7

Really should have scored, but was often at the centre of everything good about Swansea in the final third. Linked up well with Ayew too.

ANDRE AYEW (C) 8

A typically assured performance. Created chances singlehandedly at times and was a threat the whole afternoon.

SUBS

Matt Grimes (on for Naughton 45) - Instantly improved the midfield. A strong showing from the bench 7

Viktor Gyokeres (on for Palmer 59) - Put himself about well enough, but was otherwise quiet 6

Yan Dhanda (on for Fulton 86) - N/A
