The surprising Spurs star Jose Mourinho singled out for his defending in the win against Burnley

It was a comprehensive victory for Spurs this afternoon (Saturday) as they thrashed Burnley 5-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Harry Kane netted twice for Jose Mourinho's men as they romped to victory in north London, with Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko also on target for Spurs.

But while Mourinho was understandably happy with his side's performance against the Clarets, there was another pleasing factor for the Spurs head coach, with Tottenham keeping a clean sheet for the first time since he took charge.

And Mourinho picked out one player for his "amazing defending" in the game.

Tottenham v Burnley: Jose Mourinho press conference in full

"Yes, defensive process," he said, speaking in his post-match press conference.

"At half time I told them the clean sheet should be a collective ambition. So it goes in the direction of the defensive process. Everyone defended well. I can tell for example that Lucas was amazing, Lucas was amazing in the defensive process.

“Collectively we were strong. Of course they still had a few chances but that’s Burnley and it’s very difficult to stop Burnley when they reach the last third, when they cross the ball. They are amazing crossers of the ball, top guys in the box. It was difficult but we managed to press them high for the majority of the time and really good.”
