Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley is once again being linked with a transfer to West Ham United.
This was the case in the January window, but a move failed to materialise and the former Everton ace has proven to be a big player for Frank Lampard - especially in the FA Cup.
Having scored in the 2-0 win over Liverpool in the fifth round, Barkley followed that up with the quarter-final winner against Leicester City last weekend.
Speaking after the cup tie at the King Power Stadium, the Blues head coach was full of praise for 26-year-old.
"I played with Ross and I know he’s a great lad," Lampard said. "He wants to be the best player he can be and has a great attitude in that sense.
"I won’t touch on that one, all I’ll say is before we went into lockdown he put in some really good performances for us. A great example of when you train at a level, have that attitude and when you have the quality that Ross has. He can score goals. He can shoot with both feet.
"He makes the box. He defended well and showed great discipline in his game against Manchester City. He is reaping the benefits and showing it. I've got lots of time for Ross, he's a big player for us and you could see that in the last three games."
However, Lampard could soon lose Barkley as the Mirror claim that Hammers boss David Moyes boss wants a reunion with the midfielder he nurtured and Goodison Park.
Furthermore, the report states that Moyes hopes the promise of regular first-team football ahead of next summer's European Championships will be enough to entice Barkley to the London Stadium.
Should Barkley leave Stamford Bridge this summer he could be making space for the arrival of Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with an £80m move to the Blues and his dream is to play in the Premier League, according to current teammate Wendell.
"Psychologically, the Germans are very focused people," Wendell said, as quoted by Yellow and Green Football.
"I think Kai dreams of playing there. He has that desire. And I think if he decides to play in England, he will be a success.
"He’s a complete player. If you play him as a No.9 or as a No.10 a little bit behind, or if you put him out wide, he’ll know what to do.
"He has a facility to understand what the manager wants. He finishes well with both feet. He’s strong with his head, he has good technique."
