The surprise name who has been labelled as Chelsea's dressing room clown

Every squad has a dressing room joker and Chelsea are no different, as confirmed by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Much has changed in recent seasons at Stamford Bridge with the likes of John Terry, Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic, Thibaut Courtois and Cesc Fabregas - all big personalties within the squad - departing on a permanent basis.

It means, Loftus-Cheek is the longest-serving player in the first-team having been at the club since the age of eight.

From golden boy to an uncertain future - Whatever happened to Chelsea wonderkid Josh McEachran?

However, the faces across the squad have certainly changed ever since he broke into the first-team picture in the 2014/2015 campaign and after returning from a loan spell at Crystal Palace last season.

Therefore, the England international is best placed to cast his eye over the characters in the squad.

And he's revealed that Danny Drinkwater - a new arrival from Leicester City in the summer of 2017 - is the dressing room clown in an admission that may take a number of Blues fans by surprise.

"Danny Drinkwater is probably the dressing room clown now, which might surprise a few people! Apart from him, we’re quite a chilled team," Loftus-Cheek told FourFourTwo.

"I sit next to Andreas Christensen and usually hang out with him around the training ground.

"And Ethan Ampadu – I’m just, you know, taking care of him."

Drinkwater hasn't made a single appearance across any competition since featuring in the Community Shield loss against Manchester City back in August, but at least he has a nickname.

Although how much he appreciates being called the dressing room clown remains to be seen.
