Two surprise names have entered the frame for the Tottenham job following Jose Mourinho's sacking.
Spurs called time on Mourinho's spell in charge after 17 months on Monday morning amid a disappointing run of form that has left Tottenham in seventh place after drawing with Everton on Friday.
That leaves Tottenham searching for a new manager as they prepare to take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final this weekend, and RB Leipzig talent Julian Nagelsmann is the favourite, ahead of Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers.
Scott Parker, Ledley King and Nuno Espirito Santo are also high up among the bookmakers odds, with Steven Gerrard, Massimiliano Allegri, Ryan Mason and Eddie Howe also linked.
But two names that haven't been high up in the running have been former Everton boss and now Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez as well as England boss Gareth Southgate.
Both have been linked by the Guardian this evening with the outlet reporting Martinez 'has admirers at Spurs' having taken Belgium forward since his 2016 arrival and having done a good job at Swansea City and Wigan Athletic.
Meanwhile, it's also reported Southgate 'could emerge as a candidate' having impressed with England, taking the Three Lions to the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018.
Southgate is under contract with the FA until 2022, which could pose a problem if he was to become a target for Spurs.
The England boss already has a good relationship with the likes of Harry Kane, and he has already said he wants to return to club management at some point.
For the moment, Ryan Mason is taking charge of Tottenham's first-team coaching duties, tasked with preparing the team for the Premier League clash with Southampton on Wednesday and Sunday's Carabao Cup final with runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Mason is being assisted by former Charlton Athletic boss Chris Powell.
