According to Culture Vulture, we have "disappeared without trace" - no mean feat for two noisy musicians - so we thought we'd better let you know that in fact we're very much around, write Miles Copeland and Daniel Warden.
On March 15, Guardian Unlimited published an article entitled Disappearing act reporting what it had been told by our record label, that we were "missing".
After we complained that this untrue claim was a (super)imposition on our reputation and pointed out that we have not been beamed up by Scottie, Guardian Unlimited apologised for their incorrect report and, to help put matters right, have agreed to publish this so our fans are not misled.
To set the record straight, far from being "missing", we've been performing at gigs, issuing podcasts and working on new material.
We also continue to post news and new music on www.myspace.com/superimposers including Remain, an exclusive remix for Jose Gonzalez, and our supporters can also access videos and contact us via our website www.wonderfulsound.com.
We believe that the untrue story that we're "missing" is being circulated to promote an album entitled Missing due for release on May 8 by Little League Productions in the name of the Superimposers and without our consent.
Missing has nothing to do with us. It is not representative of our current work or taste and is comprised of unfinished tracks never intended for release, as well as vocals, instrumentation and songwriting by other musicians.
Watch Myspace for the real thing, which will ooze from your iPod like treacle from a harpsichord.
