Make berry gin smoothies with simple summer recipe

Gin is the ultimate summer spirit and to celebrate the return of the sunshine, we've come up with a great idea... make gin smoothies.

As lots of us get in shape for shorts and T-shirt weather, it's important we dose up on those important vitamins, and this icy beverage contains two of your five recommended fruit and veggies a day.

It's perfect for drinking in the garden on a sunny afternoon.

Not only is it super easy to make, but you can vary the ingredients to suit your taste.

All you need is a glug of your favourite gin and a handful of your preferred fruit and away you go.

Instagram foodie @cakeontherun has shared her recipe for boozy smoothies and they are a must-try, reports SurreyLive.

Gin smoothie recipe

Serves one, takes 5 minutes to make

Ingredients:

  • 50ml gin (we used Bloom London Dry Gin )

  • 150ml cold water

  • Handful of frozen berries

  • Half a frozen banana

Method:

  1. Blitz everything together in a food processor.
  2. Serve in a glass or gin bowl if you have one and enjoy.
