The super easy microwave cleaning hack that banishes need for scrubbing

Cleaning the microwave is probably one of the least enjoyable chores on your to-do-list.

Even in office kitchens - a dirty microwave is enough to deter you from hot lunches for the rest of the year.

And the actual process of rigorous scrubbing isn't always an easy job.

Often splashes of pasta sauce and fly-away left overs are splattered and cooked into every side of the appliance until their burnt, stubborn and seem unable to remove without a chisel.

Fortunately, a TikTok user with an account dedicated to helpful household cleaning tips and tricks has shared a very simple handy hack with followers.

The video shared by TikTok user Mama Mila involves a liquid solution in a glass jug.

The clip starts with the caption: "Quick and easy microwave cleaning hack.

"Mix one cup water with one tsp of dishwashing detergent."

Then the woman stirs the solution and puts it into the microwave for four minutes.

The next cue reads: "Let it sit for another four minutes before opening the door.

Then viewers are advised to: "Gently wipe the microwave and watch the grime slide off (eww!)."

In the comments, Mama Mila added: "Note: every microwave has a different wattage. Four mins is the right time on my microwave, but you may need to adjust time accordingly to suit yours xx."

The video was viewed 82.7k times and received 3911 likes.

Under the short clip, TikTok user tigs/tee/N80 posted: "Been doing this for years but I use whole lemon instead."

And other user suggested you don't even need a lemon, user Jodi Clements commented: "Works with just water."

Mama Mila's other cleaning hacks include how to make your bed smell nice, the secret to fresh fluffy towels, and how to clean oven trays without scrubbing.
