The summer love triangle that had millions of viewers swooning, and sobbing, isn’t over yet.
After three seasons of heartbreak, romance, and unforgettable summers that glued fans to their screens, Belly Conklin’s story is about to take a very exciting turn.
Amazon Prime Video has officially greenlit a feature film to wrap up the saga of The Summer I Turned Pretty to the big screen. Jenny Han, the author behind the beloved book trilogy, will co-write the movie with Sarah Kucserka.
The film promises to bring back the series’ main cast: Lola Tung, 22, Christopher Briney, 26, and Gavin Casalegno, 27. Amazon has hinted that the film will continue immediately after the dramatic events of Season 3, with new locations and storylines that didn’t fit into the television format.

While the series finale revealed Belly’s ultimate choice, fans are eager to see how her post-Season 3 life unfolds and whether the feature will include the weddings and emotional payoffs that were skipped in the show.
Speaking at the Paris red carpet for the series finale, Han said, “There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due.
“I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
Off-screen, lead actress Tung was spotted enjoying a night out in London. A viral TikTok captured the actress laughing on the dancefloor at Clapham’s Infernos nightclub, tinted glasses on and clearly having fun.
Infernos’ Instagram captioned the clip, “The summer Belly swapped the Fisher brothers for the finance bros at Infernos,” while Lola coyly refused to give away any spoilers.
The series finale drew 25 million viewers globally in its first week, highlighting the show’s mix of first love, heartbreak, and coming-of-age summers.

Fans flooded social media with reactions: “Me? Crying because The Summer I Turned Pretty has ended? Yes.” “It was perfect. My emotions those last 15 mins lol.” “I’m already crying. I’M IN SHAMBLES, JENNY!”
Episode 11, “At Last,” revealed Belly’s final choice: Conrad. Though the show skipped the wedding scene from the books, speculation is rife that the movie might finally deliver the happily-ever-after fans have been waiting for.
With Tung in London, the series’ Paris red carpet, and a feature film on the way, it seems Belly’s summers - and fan’s obsessions - aren’t over just yet.
