The sublime Swansea City player ratings as Russell Martin's methods click in emphatic Reading win

STEVEN BENDA 8

Very good with the ball at his feet once again and wasn't troubled by Reading's attack. A first Swansea clean sheet for the goalkeeper after a solid display.

BEN CABANGO 8

Always looked to be confident on the ball, and notched his first goal of the season in the second half. What a big season this could be for the Wales ace.

KYLE NAUGHTON 8

Barely put a foot wrong at the heart of Swansea's back three. Passing was on point, which ensured Benda was never troubled. Subbed.

BRANDON COOPER 8

A fine display from the academy product. Always willing to take the ball in dangerous areas. Very encouraging.

JOEL LATIBEAUDIERE 8

Operating at wing-back, the ex-Man City player looked more relaxed without the added defensive responsibility of being deeper. Rose highest to head home his first Swansea goal in the first half and regularly got forward well to aid attacks. Encouraging display.

MATT GRIMES 8

It was a game that was suited to the captain who had so much time on the ball in the middle of the park. Always composed and passed typically well. Replaced to chants of "Matty Grimes, we want you to stay" amid transfer interest from Fulham and Watford.

YAN DHANDA 8 - Star Man

A very lively first half from the attacker who enjoyed running into space at every opportunity. Got the assist for Latibeaudiere's goal and regularly caused problems. More of the same after the restart, and he got another assist for Joel Piroe. One of his best Swansea displays.

DAN WILLIAMS 8

On his senior bow for the club, the academy star brimmed with confidence early on both on the ball and when making defensive interventions.

JAKE BIDWELL 8

Given licence to get very high up the pitch and put a number of dangerous crosses into the Reading box. Subbed in the second half with the job secured.

MORGAN WHITTAKER 8

Always looked to attack and was very lively. Looks like a player that could really impress under Russell Martin. Twice unlucky not to score, but can be hugely pleased with his efforts.

JOEL PIROE 8

Making his competitive debut for the Swans, the Dutchman had a shot saved following a slick attack before heading wide in the first half. One of the quieter Swansea performers for long periods, but he exploded in the second half. So close to a sublime solo goal, but got his debut effort late on.

Subs

Lincoln McFayden (for Bidwell) - Continued where Bidwell left off. Got high up the left wing and was regularly involved in attacks. 7

Kyle Joseph (for Naughton) - Fired just wide shortly after coming on and looked confident in possession. Lively cameo. 7

Ryan Manning (for Grimes) - Deployed in central midfield, Manning ticked things over nicely during his time on the pitch. Useful to get the minutes. 7
